Time flies lah.
One week has passed. Thanks to all who had contributed to my well being one way or another.
Was invited to a soccer game on Fri and those who know me, well I cant play soccer for nuts! And looking at how muddy the field was, I was like, NOOOO!!! hahaa… swim in the icy cold lake maybe… soccer? Not in this life time!
After that was a beer bingeing session. I was kinda ‘warned’ about this, but didnt expect to experience it so soon… Every one or two minutes, everyone was like, Cheers! wah lau ay… And again, those who know me, I cant hold my liquor. At all! Luckily I had some heat rash so I just conveniently said that I am allergic.. which I am, if I drink too much..
Woot.
On Saturday, gave alms to the monks on behalf of good friend Shu Xian’s mum and Archer, code name, my useless left hand that I use to pick my nose, Archer’s friend’s mum. May they be well and happy. Ohm…![]()
It was an interesting experience, for the monks lined up and my neighbours and I gave the alms kneeling down. Half the time, I was feeling sleepy lah!
Thanks to my landlady, Mrs Jid, who helped me prepare the food. Piping hot sticky rice, mangosteens, pandan cakes, Doraemon drinks. And guess what, Saturday was lunar eclipse! And the 15th of the lunar month (dont know which month… ha!) Doubly auspicious!
Had wanted to do the same on Sunday, but when I woke up, it was 10am…
Lao friends brought me to this Korean Lao restaurant where food charcoal steamboat and hotplate were used. Dangerous siah… Will have elephant trotters for dinner if I had stuck my foot in… ha!![]()

This type of cooking must be getting popular, cos Mr. Chan Kuan Yew, a member of the Sg Embassy brought me to a similar place on Sunday night.
Walked to the Mekong on Sunday afternoon.
It looked as if it was going to burst its banks! Compared to when I visited in Dec 2007
and June 2008, where peeps could walked to the river bed to play soccer, this is amazing! If the rains continue, I have no doubt the river banks will burst!![]()
Saw a few beggars and nearly wanted to give them some money. Then I remember, a life of dignity. To me, they looked healthy, able to walk to speak, see and hear. By giving them, will it make them dependent and refuse to work? Such a dilemma.
Anyways, I didnt give lah.
Oh ya. National Day this weekend!
Am invited to the observance ceremony at the Sg Embassy on Sat. Yay!
As well as a buffet dinner at Novotel on Fri evening.
St Anthony’s Canossian Secondary School coming to perform.
Woot.
Ok. Enough musings to last a day.
