Hosted a dinner of sorts last Saturday as a form of Mid Autumn Festival for myself.

It was fun for the most part,
save that my 7pm timing became 8.15pm. Woot!

A colleague arrive at about 7.20pm,
and this was how the conversation went:

Me: So was it easy to find my apartment?
Ning: Nope, it wasn’t.
Me: Are you hungry? Shall we start first?
Ning: Nope, let’s wait for the rest.
Me: Ok. Let’s watch Man U versus Liverpool.
Ning: Ok.
Me: Are you hungry? Let’s eat.
Ning: No.
Me: OK.
Me: Are you sure you are not hungry?
Ning: No.
Me:Erm…
Ning: NO!

Ok lah. I dramatise a bit. But I sure was darn hungry! Maybe I should arrange dinner to be at 8pm next time…

Busy week as a colleague had to go for meetings.
Covered her teaching duties and it was tiring,
to say the least.

But I really enjoyed the lessons as the students were so enthusiastic lah.

Felt rejuvenated and I look forward to sharing what I know with them!

Hope they feel the same.
And not blur!
ahhaha…

More photos about pointed roofs and clear blue skies… Swee lah!

That Dam- supposedly a dragon that is in slumber…

I just find the clear blue sky with puffy white clouds coupled with the pointed roofs so appealing… I have taken so many of such photos,
from Zhong Dian in Kunming, to Taiwan to Laos.

Here are some wonderful stuff.

The streets were almost empty,
Nary a person walking
An occasional vehicle

The slight breeze,
So cool
So gentle
If only to soothe
A fluttering heart

The street lamps cast their magic
Illuminating everything
The drizzle fell
A little misty
Dreamy

In the distance
A dog barked
From a household
The nightly dramas

in the monastery
the raindrops fell on the leaves
like drums that cast the spell
that lull the trees to dance
in this slow hynoptic trance

Poetic me!

十里平湖霜满天
寸寸青丝愁华年
对月形单望相护
只羡鸳鸯不羡仙

源白衣卿相诗集·别思
______________
Wrote this poem last night.

NOT!

Loved this piece since like long ago.
But some say its too sentimental,
too girlish.
Who cares?

When I listened to it in the past,
its poetic quality resonanced some of my longings from somewhere in time.

Now when I revisit it,
it brings a smile to me,
thinking about my past.

Some photos from the trip that I went with Sg embassy and St Anthony’s Canossian Secondary School, together with some girls from the orphanage for abandoned girls.

We went to a nearby water fall, and the water looked so tempting lah!
But luckily I didn’t jump in! Else, the floods would have begun earlier!
Muahahhaa….

There was a badminton match held two Fridays ago, and if there are sports that the Laotians really enjoy, they are soccer and badminton. Not bad too, looking at the way they play.

What’s more interesting is the chilling out sessions and merry making parties that ensue after the badminton playing.

Hosted a potluck dinner of sorts during National Day, my form of celebration with the nation!

Told my friends to come at 7pm, and had a mad rush as I accompanied the embassy and the St. Anthony’s Canossian girls to an orphanage for abandoned girls. Then, we went to picnic at a nearby waterfall.

Pretty tiring, if I may say, although I didnt do anything much, save to eat. Woot.

So anyhow, reached my apartment at 1500 and knocked out till 1730. Quickly went to buy some food, realised I didnt have enough plates, cups, forks and spoons! And as the food already burst my budget, luckily my quick wits saved the day (and my money!). Borrowed from my landlady. Yay!
